Expanded Self-Portrait

The artist is the primary focus of this project, however they did not have to be the only element. A traditional portrait could be created or a more expanded, symbolic approach could be taken. A self-portrait does not have to include the artist’s face or even their image. What elements, objects, ideas, or actions describe and represent the self? What is the central idea being conveyed to the viewer? What does the artist want to reveal/conceal from the viewer? How are they treating the setting? Is there a narrative or story involved in the image? These linocuts were printed bleed on 8” x 10” Masa paper.
