Optical Mixing
For this assignment, students were asked to re-interpret a photo they had taken using the principles of the Bezold effect and/or optical mixing with paint and/or watercolor pencils. Students were encouraged to increase the intensity and vibrancy of the image by using strong colors and contrast to make the image more dramatic. All paintings were meant to be square, and no smaller than 6” x 6” and no larger than 10” x 10”.
