Personal Narrative (Accordion Book)
For this assignment, students were asked to create an accordion book illustrating a personal narrative (e.g. a memory, stream of conscious thought, or any other sort of collection of images that tells a story about themselves and/or their lived experiences). Text was allowed but not required. Each accordion book contains at least 8, 6” x 6” panels/pages. Students were encouraged to utilize the skills and concepts learned in class (the elements of art, principles of design, gestalt theory, color theory, etc...), and allowed to use the materials that best aligned with their concept. Creating a cover was optional.
